I joined C&I Leasing Plc on the 1st of April 2011 and I can say that it is indeed a great place to work. Since 2011, I have had the opportunity to learn and witness first hand a lot of things I might not have had access to at another company. I believe that a person’s growth and personal development is in their own hands, so I never take for granted the opportunities I have every day to learn and develop significant business skills at C&I Leasing Plc.
At the moment, I work with the Managing Director and I manage the Nigerian Content activities for the company. My typical work day would include amongst other things Strategic analysis – financials and others, Nigerian Content (NC) documentation/review and business unit progress reviews.
My experience at C&I Leasing has been as challenging as it has been interesting. In 2013, for example, I gave a presentation at the Top Contractor CEO Forum for Shell companies in Nigeria (SCiN) which led to a referral to give the same presentation at a similar forum for NLNG in 2013. Also in 2014, I was the Chairperson of the Land Logistics contractors’ forum of SCiN and I led the group to negotiate the first NUPENG collective agreement. These are just a few of the fond memories and experiences that I have gained at C&I Leasing.
If I am to describe myself, I will say that I am a strong and committed person, I like excellence and order in all that I do and I strive to achieve this every day. I like to grow and conquer new grounds and I hardly run away from new challenges. I am also not afraid to fail because as Mrs. Ibukun Awosika puts it “failure is the knowledge required for innovation.” Thomas Edison himself tried 1,000 times before he invented the light bulb.
I have been with the company for a little over five years, and I must confess that I am still as enthusiastic and driven to learn and contribute as I was the first day I joined.
